Hot Rolled Steel Window Profiles

Sightline provides a variety of historic window and door profiles. Our two most common hot rolled steel profiles are the W-20 and W-40.

These historic window profiles are most commonly used by our clients today as interior or exterior accent windows.

The earliest conception of these profiles was called the "Universal range," which was manufactured by the Crittal Manufacturing Company. The profile was later revised in 1964 and was called the W-20. The W-20 made it possible to fabricate the original curtain walls due to their strength and well-engineered profiles.

In 1995, the W-40 was introduced and consists of 17 hot rolled profiles with the same unmistakable classic design of the W-20. The W-40 was introduced as a more rigid steel window option that can accommodate insulated glasses up to 27mm.
